Out of all of EPMD's associates who broke out during the early '90s, Top Quality was one of the least successful, failing to attain the kind of popularity enjoyed by Keith Murray, Das EFX, Redman, and even K-Solo. Magnum Opus, his 1993 album for RCA, was produced by EPMD's Parrish "PMD" Smith and Charlie Marotta (EPMD, Das EFX, Redman).
