Album Review

It's got no label or catalog number, and it ain't easy to find, but if you're a Kinks fanatic, you should try to get a hold of this. It has some rare BBC/live material from the mid- and late '60s, highlighted by the never-released R&B/rock original "All Aboard" and three songs from a 1967 Dave Davies solo broadcast (one of which, "Good Luck Charm," was also never released officially). Then there are a few nifty folk-rockish songs from Dave's aborted late-'60s solo LP, which remains a sort of holy grail for Kinks fans; the Ray Davies-penned calypso "And I Will Love You," and a few late-'60s songs from official releases that have only shown up on obscure import anthologies. The five live songs from 1970 have lousy fidelity, but otherwise this collates a lot of interesting stuff which is hard to come by elsewhere.
